IOP Program

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Still Waters Recovery is a structured form of treatment designed for individuals dealing with mental health issues, substance abuse, and other behavioral challenges. IOP is less intensive than inpatient or RTC but more intensive than traditional outpatient care. They are ideal for individuals who need a high level of care but do not require 24-hour supervision or hospitalization.

Key Features of an IOP:

  1. Therapeutic Focus: IOP includes a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, and family counseling. Therapy may focus on skills development, coping strategies, and relapse prevention.

  2. Flexible Scheduling: Sessions are typically held several times a week for 3-5 hours per session, allowing participants to maintain their daily responsibilities like work, school, or family care.

  3. Customized Treatment Plans: Programs are tailored to address specific needs, such as substance abuse recovery, mental health challenges like depression or anxiety, or dual diagnosis (a combination of mental health and substance abuse issues).

  4. Holistic Support: Some IOPs offer additional services such as mindfulness training, vocational counseling, or medication management.

  5. Duration: Treatment usually lasts from 8 to 12 weeks, but this can vary depending on individual needs and progress.

Who Might Benefit from an IOP?

  • Individuals transitioning from inpatient or residential treatment.

  • Those with moderate symptoms that do not require hospitalization.

  • People seeking support while maintaining their daily responsibilities.

Goals of IOP:

  • Stabilizing mental health or addressing substance use.

  • Developing tools to manage symptoms and triggers.

  • Building a support network to maintain recovery and improve overall well-being.

IOPs can be an effective part of a comprehensive treatment plan, offering structure and support without requiring full-time residency.
